India stretches from 10 ° latitude in the South to the 30 ° in North. Although 30 ° is at the same level as North Africa and Florida, the high Himalayas and the huge Asian land mass gives North India a continental climate with cold Winters and hot Summers. The climate becomes increasingly tropical the further South we go. The rainfall of India is controlled by the seasonal monsoons, which sweep in from the South-West in the Summer, and the retreat from the North-East in the Winter.So there is little rain from December to March, but there is rain in some of the other months depending upon the location and elevation.
