12 Night / 13 Day Tour of North India and Nepal
This tour takes in some of the most significant sites of Northern India. From the Golden Temple of Amritsar to the base of the Dalai Lhama at Dharamsala, one of the most spectacular Himalayan hill stations, you will then fly to Kathmandu, Capital of Nepal, and visit the wildlife sanctuary at Rayal Chitiwan. There you can take a trip on an elephant, or down the river in a canoe. After one night in a Park Lodge, you will stay in an exotic palace. Your flight will take you back to Delhi for your onward connection.
DAY 1: Delhi - Welcome at the airport and transfer to your hotel
DAY 2: Delhi -After breakfast at the Hotel proceed to a city tour of Old & New Delhi.
DAY 3: Amritsar - After breakfast at the Hotel proceed to Amritsar 6 hrs drive. Visit the Golden Temple, the most sacred site of the Sikh religion.
DAY 4: Dharamsala - Drive to Dharamsala about 5 hrs drive. At an altitude of abour 1400m, Dharamsala is in a spectacular location. Visit the town and the Tibetan Monastery
DAY 5: Dharamsala - Enjoy another day in the spectacular mountain scenery before returning to Amritsar.
DAY 6: (First 5 days as previous tour) Dharamsala - Amritsar - Kathmandu After an early start transfer to the airport at Amritsar to board the flight for Kathmandu.
DAY 7: Rayal Chitwan - After breakfast at the Hotel drive to Rayal Chitwan 3 hrs.The Rayal Chitwan National Park on the Nepal/Indian border is home to the tiger, Indian rhinoceros, leopard, sloth bear and many other rare animals. Spend the night in a park lodge.
DAY 8: Wankaner - Drive to Wakaner (5 hrs) and check in to your exotic palace hotel. Rest of day at leisure.
DAY 9: Royal Chitwan - Today a ride on the back of an elephant through the park gives the best opportunity to see the many birds and animals. In the afternoon canoe down the Narayani River.
DAY 10: Kathmandu - After the breakfast drive to Kathmandu (3 hrs) and visit the many holy sites in hte city, including the Stupa at Bodnath, which is the largest stupa in Nepal.
DAY 11: Kathmandu - Visit Patan, and its beautiful temple architecture built by King Ashoka and in the afternoon the Palace at Bhaktapur which has retained its mediaeval character.
DAY 12: Kathmandu - Delhi - After lunch at the Hotel take a afternoon Flight to Delhi. On Arrival at the Domestic airport take a brief tour of Delhi.
DAY 13: Delhi - Transfer to airport for onward flight.
